There was a definite color theme in this month’s YoY box: black, pink, and white. 🙂 Check out what was inside!
*Note: prices listed as photo captions are what I found on the respective product websites at the time of posting. Yes, Oh Yas! only provided the total savings, based on the information they received from the individual partner companies.
This lip brush comes apart so that you can cap it, which makes it perfect for carrying in my purse for touch-ups. My other lip brushes are pointier and have a slicker feel, so I like that this one is wider and softer. I love it for applying lip stains.
This claims to refresh your body and soul…blah, blah, blah. You can either use it as a scrub in the shower or you can add it to a running bath. I did the latter, and all I could smell was the coffee. That’s great if you’re a coffee lover–I’m not. I didn’t smell any of the essential oils it talks about and getting all the coffee grounds out of my tub was a pain. I could make my own scrub for less and like it a lot more.
This palette has too much glitter for my taste. That plus some of the colors make it difficult to use for everyday work looks. There was major kick-up and fallout, especially with the glitter shades. I don’t see myself reaching for this palette very often.
I’ll cut straight to the chase: the color is gorgeous, but I absolutely hate the texture of lip gloss. The stickiness drives me insane. Into the giveaway bag!
This was a typical felt tip liner; nothing about it really stood out to me, other than the fact that it was tough to get completely off at the end of the day. It’s certainly got staying power!
Total Value: $81
For $14.99, that means I saved 81% on retail! What are you waiting for?

The packaging is different than on the website, which threw me a little, but I digress. I’m not a mascara girl. It was my least favorite part of doing stage makeup for ballet performances as a little girl, and I still avoid at all costs as an adult. I was going to put this mascara in my giveaway bag, but then I was getting ready for a wedding and needed some mascara to prep my lashes for putting on my falsies. I’m not really a mascara connoisseur, but this one doesn’t appear to be waterproof, so I probably wouldn’t have chosen it for myself. It came off fairly easily at the end of the night, so at least there’s that.
I love, love, love this liner for my waterline. It goes on so smoothly with great pigmentation, and because it’s waterproof, it lasts all day. Two thumbs up, for sure.
I’m not a fan of the smudgy eyeliner look (probably because I’m not good at it–or maybe I’m not good at it because I don’t like it…hm.) Anyway, this pencil is waterproof and works great on my waterline instead. It goes on smooth as butter and creates a bit of a softer look than black.
The palette is cute, and these shades will flatter any complexion. These blushes blend like a dream and pack some serious pigmentation–a little bit of product goes a loooooong way. The website describes “Jive” as a Coral Peach and “Cha-Cha” as an Orange Marmalade. There’s also a Rosy Blush palette, which is what I probably would have gravitated towards. It contains “West Coast Swing” (Burnt Hibiscus) and “Foxtrot” (Rose Taupe.) This peachy palette will be gorgeous for spring/summer.
PS: these blushes contain Rosehip Seed Oil, which is great for your skin, and this product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. 🙂
I love trying new brands, and this was one I’d never even heard of before! I liked how well it set without being sticky or drying, and the color is a really flattering nude. My only complaint was that it started to break up over the course of the day, and it didn’t touch up well. At such a reasonable price point, though, you don’t have much to lose by trying it out. You’ve got 22 shades to choose from!

Sorry I’m a little late on this one. Between February being a short month and celebrating our wedding anniversary last weekend, I’m a little behind on my posts. This month’s YOY box had 7 items! Check ’em out.

Waterproof Velvet Smooth Eyeliner in “525 Royal Blue”
Ok, truth time: as soon as I saw this blue eyeliner, I was really hesitant to give it a try. Other than the occasional deep plum or olive, I tend to shy away from bold colors. After reading some tips online, I went for it…and I ended up loving the finished look! This liner glided on like a dream, and I was able to smudge it beautifully. It made my hazel eyes pop without looking over-the-top. It’s good to push yourself out of your comfort zone every now and then, even in little ways. 🙂
First off, I’m confused about the actual name of this palette. Clearly it says “Emerald” but on the Beauty Creations website it’s called “Esmeralda.” Huh?
Anyway, as far as the palette itself, I love how many mattes it has. I feel like the tones are more autumn than spring, but at least most of the colors are subdued enough to use for work. With all of the palettes I’ve been getting, I need to have a de-potting party soon!
This was another product I was hesitant to try because the color was outside of my normal palette. I was brave, but as soon as I applied it, I regretted everything. I didn’t feel like I could pull it off at full intensity (this was too far out of my comfort zone.) I blotted it (quite a few times), so it ended up being more sheer, which I didn’t mind one bit. I ended up using it as more of a lip stain, which worked out okay. I’m not sure how often I’ll wear it, though, because even after blotting it’s still so. dang. bright.
Crease Brush, Angled Brush, & Small Concealer Brush
from Inmo Cosmetics
You can’t buy any of these individually, but they come as part of the 12-piece “Essentials” set.
Crease Brush (top): I got one of these from ipsy recently, so this new one is going in my giveaway bag.
Angled Brush (middle): Unlike my other angled brushes, this one has shorter bristles, so it helps me apply shadow on the outer corner of my eyes with a little more control.
Concealer Brush (bottom): I don’t see myself using this very often for concealer because it’s pretty small, but it could come in handy for highlighting the inner corners of my eyes.
I’m reeeeeeally not a fan of regular wooden pencil eyeliners. They tug and skip, and I love a clean defined line. I just swatched this one, and then added it to the giveaway bag. Meh. Reasonable price point, at least.
Total Value: $93*
*If you go by the current website prices, the total comes out to $50.23 (I took the brush set and divided by 12 to estimate each brush’s value.) For $14.99 + shipping, those are some great savings!

Lots of pretty things in my first Yes, Oh Yas! box of 2019! Let’s get right to it.
*Note: prices listed as photo captions are what I found on the respective product websites at the time of posting. Retail values below my descriptions are what was listed by Yes, Oh Yas! based on the information they received from the individual partner companies.
I knew I liked Beauty Creations’ eyeshadow formula, but it seems their matte liquid lipstick is a winner, too! (I don’t know why they call it a gloss, but I digress.) First of all, the color is super flattering. More importantly, though, it lasts all day! After eating beef chili for lunch, I only saw the tiiiiiniest bit of fading around the center of my mouth, but it wasn’t bad enough to warrant a touch-up. For the price point, I’d definitely recommend giving this a shot if matte liquid lippies are your jam.
I was really torn about whether or not to keep this palette, but then I saw the richness of the colors and found it hard to resist. I’ve been receiving so many neutral and warm tone palettes lately that they’re getting a little boring. While those are useful for everyday looks, the jewel tones in this palette are difficult to turn down! I can’t wait to take them out for a test run on a weekend look. There’s a nice mix of matte and shimmers, and the pans are a pretty generous size. I did experience a little fallout with some of the more neutral shades. Sigh.
While I’m generally a lover of highlighters, this one was too orange for my taste, and I’ve already got so many to get through. This one’s going into the giveaway bag! It’s a nice subtle finish–not glittery at all, just a little glow.
Loose pigment eyeshadows seem to be a popular beauty box item this month, since I got one in my ipsy bag, too. This charcoal is stunning, with just the right amount of shimmer to take your classic smoky eye to the next level by adding more dimension. Even though I tapped the excess of my brush before applying, I still ended up with some fallout on my cheekbones. I guess it’s not too surprising with a loose powder eyeshadow.
Just because New Year’s has passed doesn’t mean glitter season is over (is it ever, really?) Anyone who uses nail polish can always use a good gold glitter in their collection. You can use a single coat over your favorite color to make your nails pop, or you can use multiple coats alone to amp up the bling. (What you see in the picture above is one coat.) Only time will tell how the durability fares. This color is called “This is Hollywood,” but I think you can only get it as part of the Hollywood Glam duo (one silver, one gold.) It’s also currently on sale. 🙂

Here we are on the last day of 2018, so let’s dive right into my final Yes, Oh Yas! box of the year!
*Note: prices listed as photo captions are what I found on the respective product websites. Retail values listed below my descriptions are what was listed by Yes, Oh Yas!
I popped this mask on earlier today to make sure my lips are nice and soft for my midnight kiss. 🙂 It has a soft gel texture, similar to the lip mask I tried from Patchology. I left it on for 15 minutes and enjoyed the tingling sensation (totally normal), but I had a hard time getting it to stay adhered to my upper lip. My lips do feel hydrated and refreshed after using it, but I still prefer wash-off masks since they create less waste. You can get one of these gel masks for $7 CAD, or you can get a box of 4 for $25 CAD.
Key Ingredients:
Manuka Honey–hydrates skin
Fermented Rose–hydrates & calms
Grapefruit Oil–excellent source of Vitamins A & C to tone skin
Berry Complex–soothes skin and provides antioxidants
bioBRIT-3 Composite (a naturally-derived complex that includes Lechithin and Dipalmitoyl Hydroxproline)–plumps lips and has anti-aging properties
YOY really seems to like Crown Brush because they include one of their brushes almost every month. Angled brushes like this are versatile because you can use them to apply highlighter/blush, or you can use it to contour the hollows of your cheeks. This badger bristle brush is soft, but I doubt I’ll keep it. I have so many already, so it’ll go into the giveaway bag. It has a very reasonable price point, if you want to pick one up.
Beauty Creations seems to be another YOY favorite brand. This palette is a combination of 5 matte and 4 shimmer neutral shades. Like other BC palettes I’ve received, the colors apply smoothly with a nice buildable color payoff, and they blend beautifully.
This warm pink isn’t the first shade I would have chosen, but I was surprised that I ended up liking it. I’m glad it’s more of a natural shade because after letting it dry down for a couple of minutes, I still had to blot quite a bit to prevent color transfer. I might have better luck if I apply it with a lip brush instead of the applicator.
This one was weird because I couldn’t find it anywhere on BelláPierre’s website. I understand the color theory of concealers like this: red covers blue-green (i.e. undereye circles or bruising), green covers red (i.e. acne or rosacea), and lavender covers yellow/brown (i.e. sallowness or hyperpigmentation). Applying and blending it to look natural without taking it off is another story, but hey, #beautygoals2019.
Retail Value: $21
Total Value: $86*
*If you go by the current website prices, the total comes out to $60.10 (current conversion rate for CAD to USD makes the lip mask $5.13.) For $14.99 + shipping that’s a win!

November’s theme was “Girls Can!” Keep reading to see what was inside.

To be honest, I’ve never used a liquid highlighter like this before. This one was really pretty; I just applied a couple of drops to each cheekbone and blended. I’m still partial to a regular powder or pressed powder highlighter, but it’s always good to try new things!
I get a little annoyed when a Sormé product is included because they don’t have their own website that you can buy from. I was able to find it on Amazon for much cheaper than Yes, Oh Yas! claimed. It’s similar to the Chella brow pencil I got a couple of months ago; its creamy formula blends really nicely. I don’t really prefer one over the other.
I’m not usually a fan of natural bristle brushes; I definitely don’t prefer them. I have to admit, though, that this one feels really nice and does a great job of applying eyeshadow with no fallout. Its size and shape lend well to doing an all-over color when I’m running late in the morning, but it’s still small enough to do some eye contouring, as well. It’s a very affordable price point, so if natural bristles aren’t a deal-breaker for you, I’d certainly recommend it.
This highlighter and I didn’t start off so well. When I took it out of the mailer envelope, it had completely detached from the pan but at least managed to stay intact:
It’s a gorgeous color, but between YoY and ipsy, I feel like I’ve been getting highlighter overload lately. I’m also disappointed to say that I contacted Yes, Oh Yas! after opening it, and I haven’t gotten any response at all. 😦 Anyway, this highlighter is currently on sale for $10, so get on it!
For lippie lovers, this is like Christmas–6 lip colors, 4 lip liners, and a lip brush! Lips aren’t my thing. I tend to stick with a neutral liquid lip that will stay most of the day. If I had to pick just one makeup item to wear, it would probably be my pressed powder foundation or liquid eyeliner. (Sunscreen is skincare, so it doesn’t count. 🙂 ) I swatched these colors, and they didn’t seem to be long-wear, plus I didn’t see myself carrying this palette around for touch-ups, so I gave it to my friend Danielle, who I know will give it a good home. She’s the reigning queen of lipsticks. ❤
Retail Value: $45
Total Value: $145*
*If you go by the website prices, the total comes out to $82.06 (I didn’t use sale prices, and I divided the liquid highlighter price by 6, since it’s normally a set of 6.) For $14.99 + shipping that’s still a heck of a deal!

This month’s theme was “Resting Witch Face” (appropriate since I suffer from RBF), and I got 5 full-size bewitching products.
*Note: prices listed as photo captions are what I found on the respective product websites. Retail values listed below my descriptions are what was listed by Yes, Oh Yas!
I really dig the idea of this lipstick. It has a flip top so you can apply it one-handed, and the packaging looks cool and futuristic. It’s just not my kind of lipstick (I love longwear liquid). I swatched this beauty, and the color isn’t really my jam, either. It’s also weird that this color isn’t on the website. Maybe it was seasonal? Anyway, it does seem that the color is buildable, which is nice. It went on a little sheer at first, but then I was able to amp up the color with another coat. Bonus: you can also use STIKS on your cheeks and eyes. This lipstick will be going to a good home with my friend Danielle, who is the queen of lipstick. Her collection is legendary. 🙂
It’s always nice to get a new nail polish that isn’t similar to colors you already have. This lovely watermelon pink is a great addition to my collection. It’s a little bright for fall, but when you live in Florida and it still feels like summer, it’s easier to get away with. 🙂
I was really happy with how this lacquer applied. It was opaque enough that I only needed to do one coat. It’s also free of yucky things like Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, Toluene, Camphor, TPHP, and Xylene, AND it’s cruelty-free. The only thing left is to test out it’s staying power. Time will tell.
This eyeshadow may be longwear, but it also has a nice and light creamy texture. True to its name, it stayed in place all day long. I haven’t tried this out yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this shade also works as a gorgeous blush. Since it has a shimmer, it would probably take care of highlighting your cheekbones, too. BAM!
If you want to try it, I’d recommend you get on it now. At the time of writing this post, it’s on sale for $10! You have this and 2 other shades to choose from.
I’m a brush collector–I have more than I know what to do with. I’ve used other smudged brushes, but they’re so stiff that they end up feeling scratchy and irritating my skin. Thankfully that’s not the case with this one. It’s stiff enough to do its job, but it didn’t hurt my skin. It has a nice wooden handle and nylon bristles (cruelty free!)
Yes, Oh Yas! promised a palette every month, and they delivered. There’s a variety of shades and a mix of matte and shimmer. A couple of the darker shades are patchy, but I’m less likely to use them often, so whatever. Similar to the Desert Vibes Palette I got in July, there are 12 Rosehip Seed Oil-infused shades arranged from light to dark, and they apply and blend smoothly with no fallout. This product is also cruelty-free!
Retail Value: $20
Total Package Value: $116*
*If you go off of the website prices, it’s $76 (using the sale price of the Mirabella eyeshadow). For $14.99, no complaints here!
November’s palette will be a lip palette from Aesthetica–can’t wait to see what else!

This month’s theme was “Believe in Unicorns,” and I got 4 full-size magical products.
*Note: prices listed as photo captions are what I found on the respective product websites. Retail values listed below my descriptions are what was listed by Yes, Oh Yas!
The first thought I had when I opened this palette was that it reminded me A LOT of Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Aurora Glow Kit palette that I already own. Even the packaging is similar. Some of the colors are a little different, but it basically makes me think of a less glittery version of Aurora, which is fine by me. I’m not a fan of glittery highlighters. It also blends nicely and is buildable.
Matte lipstick is my jam, so I was excited to try this out. The color is really pretty, but it definitely wasn’t transfer-proof. I didn’t like how it ended up settling into the creases in my lips, either. Even when I reapplied, you could see the dark lines underneath. I don’t think I’ll be reaching for this one much in the future. 😦
I had never tried Aesthetica brushes before. These have good quality synthetic bristles and the handles are a comfortable length. The angled brush is a little thicker than the ones I already have, so it’s a nice alternative for doing my brows. The spoolie is the perfect length and is great for my brows or my lashes.
Retail Value: $45
Glo Stix Semi-Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Honey Bun”
You know I love my liquid lippies! I really, really wanted to like this one, and the color is gorgeous. This independent beauty brand is based in Austin, TX (any Texas brand gets extra points in my book <3) and is 100% cruelty-free. I hate to say I was disappointed with this lipstick. It stayed sticky from the moment I put it on, even though I blotted it after about 2 minutes. By the time it stopped being sticky, it had gotten patchy over the course of the day. Some lipsticks fade evenly in such a way that it looks like a subtle ombré effect–no such luck with this one. I’m probably going to end up tossing it. 😦
Retail Value: $18
Total Package Value: $119*
*If you go off of the website prices, it’s $110.99 (using the sale price of the palette). For $14.99, that’s an absolute steal!

This month’s theme was “Cali Love,” and I got 5 full-size products. I absolutely loved the amount of pink in this box!
*Note: prices listed as photo captions are what I found on the respective product websites. Retail values listed below my descriptions are what was listed by Yes, Oh Yas!
This palette is absolutely GORGEOUS! It’s a perfect combination of 5 matte shades and 4 foil finish shades. Since last month’s palette was a warm tone palette, this cool tone was a nice balance. The pigment of all of the shades is fantastic. A couple of them have some kick-up in the pan, but there’s no fallout. I have a feeling I’ll be reaching for this palette a lot; it compliments my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette nicely.
I was excited to try these out because I didn’t read very closely, and I saw “Tea Tree” and automatically thought tea tree oil. I was disappointed to find that they didn’t smell like tea tree oil at all. Shows I need to actually read the information lol. They do absorb oil well (I tried one on my face and one on my husband’s), and with a pack of 100, they should last me a while.
Retail Value: $12*
*Sormé doesn’t sell directly from their website, so Amazon seems like a decent place to buy these.
I was a little apprehensive about this one because it’s not a long-wear liquid lipstick. I was afraid it was basically a tinted lip balm, which I’m not a fan of. Oh my goodness, this lippie is so incredibly comfortable, and it packs a lot more pigment than I expected. The avocado oil in it keeps my lips moisturized all day, and it was so light that I didn’t feel like I had anything on my lips at all. I just put it on, let it set for a minute or so while I finished getting ready, and then I lightly blotted with a tissue. It looked great all day and didn’t crack, flake, or get patchy. There are only 3 other colors available right now, but I’ve got my eye on “Daydream” and “Storm.”
I’m flush with blush brushes, so I’m going to add this to my giveaway bag. The main highlights of this brush: synthetic bristles, ergonomic handle, can be used with liquids, powders, or creams.
Retail Value: $22*
*Why does this seem to happen with Crown brushes every time? $22 is quite a difference from $14 and a HUGE difference from the current $0.95 sale price. What gives??
Based on the last time I tried a “primer” sheet mask, I’m pretty dubious about this one. I’m actually going to hold off on using this because we’re going to Ireland in about a month, and I wouldn’t mind being able to give my skin a moisture boost after a trans-Atlantic flight. The fewer liquids I have to transport, the better. This sheet mask is made of Tencel, which is a 100% biodegradable cellulosic fiber (why can’t all sheet masks be biodegradable??) The packaging is recyclable (hooray!) and their products contain no parabens, mineral oils, sulfates, phthalates, benzophones, artificial fragrances or pigments. Now this is a line of sheet masks that catches my attention.
Retail Value: $12*
*Again with the price differences. What the what??
Total Package Value: $94*
*If you go off of the website prices, it’s $52.94 (using the sale price of the brush), but for $14.99, it’s still a great deal.
I’m curious to see what September brings. I’m on the fence about the highlighter palette that’s coming because I already have so many highlighters, but supposedly there will be “brushes, brushes, and more brushes.” I’m hoping it’s the ones in this photo.

This month’s theme was “Summer in the Desert,” and I got 5 full-size products. I don’t know about where you live, but here in Florida it’s more like a rainforest than a desert–super humid and hot, hot, hot. Anyway, these products totally scream summer. Let’s jump in!

I’m not typically a bullet lipstick kind of gal. I tend to prefer matte liquid, so I’m not sure if I’m going to keep and use this (so far I’ve only swatched it). The color was much sheerer than I expected, but I don’t really like shimmery lipsticks. It’s infused with Vitamin E to moisturize and protect your lips, but I’m dubious about its staying power.
Retail Value: $22*
*Sormé doesn’t sell directly from their own website. They have authorized online retailers as well as brick and mortar retailers. Maybe this retailer has better deals?
IBY stands for “Inspired By You” (in case you were wondering). This 12-shade palette, inspired by California desert sunsets, is an absolutely gorgeous mix of matte and shimmer shades. They apply very smoothly with no fallout, and they blend effortlessly. They’re infused with Rosehip Seed Oil to protect your skin, and with the intense pigmentation, the looks you can create are endless! The arrangement of the colors within the palette from light to dark make it easier to create smooth transitions, and it’s cruelty-free. Gotta love that!

*A noticeable difference from the website–not sure why…
Perse Professional Smearproof Lip Liner in “Nudist P21”
from Sormé Cosmetics (?)
This one frustrates me. I can’t for the life of me find this specific lip liner online in this color. It says Sormé Company on the back, but this color is nowhere on the Sormé website, or the authorized online retailers. Whatever it is and wherever it’s from, it applies smoothly and is a nice color. I’ll have to test out the longevity to let you know for sure, but I’ve been needing a nude lip liner, so this is perfect.
I had never heard of this brand before, but they seem to hold themselves to some pretty high standards, which is impressive. This is from their website:

Pretty cool. This face wash caught me off-guard when I first used it because it’s an exfoliating face wash, but there’s no grittiness to it. It turns out the exfoliation comes from the pineapple and papaya enzymes that remove dead skin cells. The smell was a little weird at first, but I got used to it. It’s better than having perfumes in it! I probably would have liked the Eucalyptus Mint better, but oh well. I like that this leaves my face feeling clean but not totally dried out and stripped. I’m not used to being able to pronounce and identify every single ingredient in a face wash (or most beauty products, for that matter), so that was refreshing. 🙂 I’m definitely curious to check out some of their other products!
Retail Value: $18*
*This is a noticeable difference from the $12 value listed on the website. There’s no indication that it’s currently on sale or anything, so I don’t really know what to make of that.
I got this eyeliner in “Jet Black” in one of my first ipsy bags, and I remember liking it. I was glad to get it in “Plum” this time because it’s a nice subtle alternative to black, and I’ve been meaning to get one. The color is nice and intense, and the felt tip applicator comes to a nice fine point, so you can draw your line as thin or thick as your little heart desires. I encounter a little bit of skipping, but I’ll fully admit that that could just be user error. 🙂 Waterproof, smudge-proof, cruelty-free, and a decent price point. What’s not to love?
Retail Value: $19*
*Again with the price differences. What’s going on this month?
Total Package Value: $107*
*If you go off of the website prices, it’s $86 (assuming the lip liner price is accurate since I can’t find anything to suggest otherwise), but for $14.99, I’ll take it!
I’ve been seeing spoilers on Instagram for next month’s box, and I’m already getting excited! My July box came later in the month than usual, but at least it came! Hopefully things go back to normal in August.
What goodies did you get in your beauty subscription(s) this month? Anything you recommend?
Love,
Sarah xoxo
